Shane Crilly founder of Base Wood Fired Pizza is originally from Carrickmacross, Co. Monaghan. He studied law in Dublin and went on to train as a Solicitor in London. Shane embarked on a journey to the birthplace of pizza, Naples in Sothern Italy where he learned the art of making a real pizza alongside local Italian cooks. He returned to Dublin and set out to improve the standard of pizza in Dublin and to create a pizza that is to inspire healthier choices by offering people real food. He founded Base in 2008 and opened the first store in Terenure that year and to date has 6 stores.

In 2013 Stephen Cooney and Brian O’Malley directors of the Loyola Group invested in the business and joined the Base management team to assist with the expansion of the company.The Loyola group include The Bath Pub, The Old Spot, The Leopardstown inn, The Landmark, The Jar and The Cheeky Pup in Quinta Do Lago.


Paul Tarbey

Operations Manager

Paul has worked in hospitality industry for over 15 years gaining diverse experience in Operations and HR management in various companies. Paul worked with global fast paced establishments such as McDonald’s and Hilton Hotels, as well as local businesses such as Portmarnock Hotel, KSG in various locations including Dublin Airport and Boojum.


Jarek Lukaszewicz

Area Manager

Jarek is a food service professional with over 10 years experience in FOH and BOH operations. Jarek worked within fast paced establishments such as Boparan Restaurant Group, Boojum and Domino’s. He has recently joined Base Wood Fired Pizza as the Area Manager to ensure we maintain high standards across all our stores


Rachel Devlin

Brand & Marketing Manager

Rachel is an experienced Marketer with previous experience working in the food and hospitality sector. Rachel worked as a Marketing, Sales and Events Manager with a successful hotel group before joining the Base management team. Throughout her career she has worked with a range of brands and prides herself in creating campaigns that deliver the brands key message.


Brigitta Dajnoki

Finance Manager

Brigitta started with Base Wood Fired Pizza in January 2017 as a Payroll Technician and swiftly got promoted through the ranks and is now our Finance Manager. She is an expert in Oracle Micros POS systems and plays an important part of project managing new system role outs for the business.


Edyta Nawotka

Accounts Assistant

Edyta has worked within the food Industry for over 10 Years. She has a degree in Food Science and Nutrition Engineering. Keeping close within the Food sector while pairing it with accountancy is important which made her perfect for this position. Joining the Base management team, Edyta assists our finance manager with Payroll and accounts.
